Hi guys
I have a cube camera DS-2CD2442FWD-IW purchased from an authorised UK company.

It's running V5.4.3 build 160902 and will not upgrade firmware. Constantly getting error of "Upgrading Failed".

Is there a working solution for this?

How are you trying to upgrade the firmware
If on the web GUI and pushing the upgrade button that won't work
You need to find the correct firm ware for this camera
Down load the file then say open that file to your desktop it will be called
digicap.dav got to the camera web page then under maintenance you will see upgrade browse to the file on your desk top digicap.dav click on it the click update in the web GUI a little box will open up with a small red line and % then when done the camera will reboot and the latest firm ware should be on the camera but please make sure you have the correct firmware first or if it's not broken leave it alone new firmware doesn't mean the best functions and features have been added far from it

Hi @marku

I was upgrading the firmware by downloading proper firmware, browsing to file etc. Exactly as you mentioned.

I eventually succeeded by trying something different.

  1. Boot into Windows (I was trying under Mac OSX)
  2. Connect directly to camera over ethernet rather than wifi
  3. use the batcher tool (Windows only) to upgrade the firmware
One or all of those made a difference :)

All three needed there I always assume people are on windows,on a wired LAN and hik tools or appropriate vendor tools, but be careful about sticking firmware on sometimes if it's the wrong build or you have a hacked firmware, you could be learning Chinese or wipe your firmware out all together
Good to hear all ok
