Not sure how to solve this, but I am working on line detection, so I draw the line on screen from the bottom of a wall to the house wall with the intent of trigger when one of my cats walks through.

BUT and I got to this after testing

The cats do not trigger as it appears that the line 'thinks' it is about 3 feet in the air !!

You'd get better help if you say which camera and NVR you're using. In case it's Dahua, I've found that setting up line crossing is hit-and-miss on the NVR, and works a whole lot better setting it up directly on the camera. With newer camera and NVR firmware it's getting better, but it's still not totally reliable through the NVR.
