Hi,

I'm getting a bunch of false positives with motion detection on my HIK NVR with two cameras at night. Just behind the bushes at the front of the photo's is a road and it seems to pick up every car that goes by with it's lights on. During the day it's pretty good with not many FP's

Here are the two cameras views.

Here are the motion settions

The NVR doesn't have the 'Expert' mode that are on the actual cameras, but this is the lowest I can set them.

Do you have any advice on this, or should I just goto the camera's for sending mails, which is a little more tricky, so I read.

you should not be using basic motion detection for any sort of alerts/notifications; if you tune it out so those false positives go away.. you'll also tune out pretty much any actual positive.

if you want emails/alerts; use real motion sensors to trigger it.

built in motion detection is best for flagging timelines of continuos recordings of potential activity; and thats about the extent of its usefulness.
