Dahua NVR Recording Space

Trying to maximize my storage length and was wondering. If the NVR is set up to record Constant, MD and IVS; does it record three separate streams or one main stream and bookmarks the events?

If each is separate streams, can I setup the continuous to record off the main stream at 10fps and the motion or IVS off of the sub-stream at 30fps?

Interested to know how others maximize their HD space.

With Dahua NVRs, the recorder creates a new file every hour. If there are no events, each file is an hour long. When an event occurs, the current file is closed and a new file created. When the event ends, the same thing happens. There are no markers, per se, just separate files. I record only main stream so can't answer for substreams, or for brands other than Dahua.
