I hijacked someone's thread so I'm going to make my own. Living in Havana, there's tonnes of classic cars, not all American either, in various conditions, that pass by my place daily. I'm not a car guy but I know some folks like to try to identify the car.

This beast went by last night at 4:30am. Sounds like it may have the original engine which would be unique. Many have had diesels put in as the original engines got too expensive to run.

This video is from my N85EF2 (Color4k/X). Need to add some more light at the sidewalk. Any tips to help dial it in would be great.

Something a bit unique today. Horses are still used for pulling carts in many parts of Cuba. You don't see many in my part of Havana unless it's for tourists.

This guy passes between 4am and 4:30am almost every day. Not sure where he's headed. Unfortunately, not my best camera nor conditions.

I was in Havana in 2018, and was super impressed with the repurposing and ingenuity to keep the old cars on the road. I looked at a dozen cars, mostly American from the 40's and 50's, and they had repurposed diesel engines taken from generators, a Toyota 4 cyl engine in a 1949 Cadillac, tractor engines in cars, Lada engines in old Chevys, etc.
Awesome experience.

Yes, it is amazing how they repair what people in more developed countries throw out. My in-laws had a 15 year old rice cooker that stopped working. They paid the equivalent of $2 USD to have it fixed and it will last another 10.

Broken TV? Someone will buy it for the parts that are still working.

Got around to installing Wildcat's firmware for the Color4K-X last night. Did some tweaking and turned on the illuminators for a trial. Looks pretty good, I'd say.

That looks pretty good! Is it newer than this? I assume so
V2.840.0000000.1.R, Build Date: 2021-06-11

Did you see a difference or fix anything?

What exposure are you running at night?

Thanks! I was running a Dahua firmware dated June 2022. The one listed on Andy's new PDF of firmwares.

The image seems cleaner now. A bit crisper.

Running 10ms shutter, 55 gain, no backlight.

People are a bit blurry but I'm working on having the 20,000 lumen LEDs put up so that should allow me to run daylight settings (5ms, 10 gain). Lol

Hoping to get this camera to do face detection at night and install an older 2431 beside it for overview/IVS.

While I'm not in Cuba, saw this today here in Commiefornia. I believe this is a Porsche 914, which was made between 1969 and 1976. I don't think this one is street legal, as it didn't have a valid plate.

A visit to Cuba is on my bucket list. I hope I can make that happen.
