Way back when I used to record my cameras form a PC interface card with Averrmedia software. I think. I could set how many seconds to record before a motion event and how many seconds to record after a monition event. Setting up masking and motion sensitivity was also much simpler than it is with my Hikvision NVR.
Now I have to watch a day of shadows to find the event I want and then the end of the recording is missing because the recording cut out if the varmit left with any speed. I also can't play back at 16 x speed, so watching the shadows takes a lot of time.
I assume the Blue Iris software has the pre and post motion event buffers built in?
