    1/1.8" cameras at night

Here are some examples of reflectorized tape to aid the focus. I don't really use that far left one in first pic, because it was for the 5231 Z12E. but looking in the dark back yard with the other Z4 bullet i needed to play with how I focused on that reflector tape until I found the setting...

    1/1.8" cameras at night

I have a very bright LED street light that was updated 2-3 years ago from Sodium.....but it depends on how the car moves through that light. Some are going straight and some are turning. Some are moving away, and some are coming with headlights on. Headlights washout color night mode from some...

    Signal Drop

i'd surmise it could be the garage switch or it's power source. if it's nearing it's thruput capacity with current devices, that could do it. Is it a Gigabit poe switch on all ports?

Wow! There are still good people among us!

note to self.....where is my window breaking tool now? grrr. My uncle was big on fire extinguishers, He had them everywhere. I think he saw some things in WWII that shaped this behavior as field medic in the Pacific theater on ships and landing crafts. I wonder how he got off course to end up...

Looking for an outdoor onvif wifi bullet cam with usb3 for solar panel

this is outdoor rated. the sensor would be better suited to a 2MP camera. but since your area of interest is primarily daytime I presume, you could make this work....

    Feedback on Complex Camera Layout

Example for your " G" cam. These cars are 80 feet away from the lens. you'd be in better shape than I am. This 5442 model number is what Andy was using before he switched it to the IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3. ( Model # is on the lower left of cam screen) The S3 i have heard has some improved hardware...

    Feedback on Complex Camera Layout

Camera K could certainly be a Color4k -T180. Cam H sounds good for starters. I think after about 4 years of doing this, I have had as many as 3 different cameras at a few locations. Cam G could also be a IPC-B54IR-Z4E-S3 since its a nice tight choke point. They are bit more forgiving for...

Lorex NVR won't reset or turn on

I remember the 2nd time my Mom's house had a close hit, and Cable modem got fried( again) and carried the juice to the computer and killed/ or incapacitated the dell Inspiron tower. Naperville IL gets some hellacious lightning as I recall. I think we had her buy a bunch of surge protectors...

    Getting ads all the time

they really could back off on the annoyance style ads here. all they do for me is make me shut the web page on my phone, swear like a School bus driver, and wait until i get home to use the Ad-blocked browser on Chrome. Too bad really...there are ways of serving ads in a more pleasing fashion.

Lorex NVR won't reset or turn on

You could fry components the new NVR if you hook up any of the cameras that stopped working after the lightning strike. I would test them somehow first.

    New Member, long distance application

40 yards? Not sure but it's at least 100 feet or more from camera to the middle of the intersection. I really like the Z4 cams. they do a marvelous job on the west side of the house. I havent switched back to Summer settings yet, so my night color wasnt so crisp... You see my Cameras...

    New Member, long distance application

Or more than one camera. one camera cannot be asked to do multiple jobs well. I have found that at my previous Condo Mgmnt job, that each camera performs best when it's setup for 1 job. Then it performs its task well. Yes you will get some secondary information from it, but it really needs to be...

Can not find Camera on NVR

if you exceed the bandwidth of the NVR with 8mp cams....you can get error msgs as well. When i move cams around on NVR i have had to try different approaches with different brands. @bigredfish is the GURU on NVR settings. I usually can do a manual search in the upper box of that NVR screen you...

Cat6, Fiber optics, or wireless bridge to shed

Run a couple of ubquiti (or other brand) wireless bridges, the 2 i have going are still running on year 3. they come right back after power outages. no way to dig a line under asphalt, so options were slim. 350-400 foot distance. signal even kept going when the telephone pole fell and I lost...

Garage Door opening or closing to trigger alert

Perhaps a cardboard cut out of a human silouhette ( sp) taped to the inside of the garage door would trigger it. Or even just a black piece of cardboard taped to the door would be seen as motion.... I had some trouble with motion events on the door as well. from the inside. but when i 86'ed the...
