Well now it looks to be less confusing? for the NVR5216-16P-4KS2E (hardware v1.0) there is only a single version noted as: "DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2_MultiLang_V4.002.0000000.2.R.220120" that came out Feb 15th, 2022. They dont seem to list other variants for the DH_NVR5XXX-4KS2 series.

Latest firmware does state Hardware Version V1.0.

No, I ordered a 19" wide, 10" deep tray to hold the NVR. That's why I said "deep".

Thanks! Just ordered a 10" deep tray to set it on in the rack. That should get the job done for me. As it turns out Dahua does make a 19" rack mount tray for it, but they want around $100 for it, which of course is ridiculous.

Yea I figured any of these POE NVRs will be noise makers and I certainly dont intend to sleep near it, just wanted to use that for reference. The Q-See it's be replacing is pretty annoying and while I could replace the fans in it which I have read would help, I think Id rather just replace it...

Considering replacing my Q-See QC8816 with a Dahua NVR5208-16P and wanted to ask how loud this unit is when running? Are there any dB level ratings for it? Would you say you could sleep next to it? Does it vibrate a lot? Etc.

I tend to wait on updating firmware too on any device. This one was just causing too many issues that I couldnt explain so I figured I'd give it a shot. Thankfully so far it seems to have fixed everything. Only time will tell if it introduced any new ones.

Just to add a followup to this thread, I was able to fix the problem by upgrading the firmware on the NVR. I used v3.200 that I found at Nelly's Security (LINK) and it worked flawlessly. I also found a newer version directly from Dahua which was a version 3.202 (LINK) but decided not to chance...

Yes but they are pretty cheap and can and should be used for many other things. I know SlickVPN is only $48/yr. There are many others out there too.

I have not done it myself but they are usually changeable and there are a couple online companies that sell the replacement lenses. There was a thread a while ago on here I saw that mentioned a lot more about it. Youll have to do some searching. Ive never seen a tutorial on it being done though.

Just buy ones from a seller that specifically states on the listing "English Firmware".
