    DMSS Notifications - Not working?

Thanks for the heads up! I didn't want to start uninstalling/reconfiguring until I at least knew at least one other person commented. Appreciate it!

    DMSS Notifications - Not working?

Hello all, I noticed on Nov 15th was the last day I got any noticfications for DMSS app. Thought it was something on my end but nothing has changed and it looks like the NVR is still talking to the IP ranges it has in the past for these notifications. I did notice an update for that date in...

Android DMSS very slow loading and PTZ

This is what bothers me as well when setting up the VPN route for these things - that and the alarm/notification push as well. I can also confirm its working faster again and I'm on an older version, haven't updated. Went slow awhile back and now running fast again, definitely something in that...

    DMSS notifications still working?

Glad to hear! I've gotta do some digging on my side and see about that messagepush.org domain, funny enough I have never seen it come across in my traffic for the notifications so now I'm curious if it varies between models/firmware.

    DMSS notifications still working?

The IP I got (only was calling via IP): 216.239.36. 55 I was extremely shocked it wasn't calling to a domain since that isn't very redundant but maybe it's different on various NVRS? You might get lucky and see that IP pop up - I had a heck of a time on my setup with a complicated VPN setup...

    DMSS notifications still working?

Still working on my end, been getting them all week for me. When I was setting up my NVR with a VPN and very strict firewall rules, I found that the NVR makes a call to an IP address for the push notifications (anytime there is motion/triggered event for push notifications) - It could be...

Dahua NVR W/ VPN Setup - Push Notifications

So due to my carriers double NAT of their network, I had to get creative (instead of just running OpenVPN on my PFSense router) - So my setup involves a hosted VPS server in the cloud that is running OpenVPN, firewall rules and configuration allows client to client communications and I've got...

Dahua NVR W/ VPN Setup - Push Notifications

Just updating this for anyone else that follows: It appears push notifications still require internet access for the NVR and device. Became clear as day when I noticed a flurry of traffic in the packet captures and firewall logs anytime motion was triggered on the devices in question. IE even...

Dahua NVR W/ VPN Setup - Push Notifications

That is actually a good viable option versus the push, I'll definitely have to check into that since it actually would be a more reliable notification method I think.

Dahua NVR W/ VPN Setup - Push Notifications

Hello all, I got an awesome 32 channel NVR from EmpireTecAndy awhile back and it's been pretty good thus far. Recently I setup a VPN so that I could view it remotely without port forwarding and that has been going pretty good as well. My question comes around the push notifications - Can...

Dual CAT6 gland for junction box

Funny enough I've been looking for 3/4 glands that aren't comically large for the opening - None of them seem to be small enough to be a tight fit on the Cat5/6 cables and always needed that duct seal putty or such to fill them up. If anyone finds 3/4 glands that allow ya to drill your own hole...

    Milestone hardware replacement

If memory serves on the newer versions they have a check-box for automatic license activation under the Basics->License tab, if that is checked I've never seen any issues with it automatically going through (not sure the interval though) - If not, I know in the past I've had to just run a...

Milestone Essential will be free for up to 8 cams..no recording limit...

If you have the capability of running virtualization like VMware, you can run multiple instances, of course with an 8 camera limit per. Of course since Milestone uses Windows, that means you'll need a copy of Windows for each instance. Milestone is very good software, I've currently installed...

    Christmas Sales 2021

Hey @EMPIRETECANDY - Wanted to ask, do you carry the NVR608-32-4kS2? If so, how much if on your black-friday deals? Might be upgrading now or in coming weeks and thinking this might be good NVR (currently have 28 cameras) - Or would you recommend something else if newer better NVRS out there...

    Ordering out of country concerns

Can also confirm, Andy is absolutely worth working with. Before him, it always felt like a shot in the dark ordering on other international sites like Ali-express or Ebay, you never knew what to expect. He's also SUPER fast at shipping, like I've had cameras show up from him faster than items...

    Corridor Mode / Function

That is probably the statement of the year :) One more reason to rely on personal thoughts and experiences on some of these units. As much as I'd love to order one and find out, my boss would not be pleased with me ordering cameras just to see if it works or not for one feature.

    Corridor Mode / Function

Hello all, I am looking to see if anyone can confirm the following functionality on some higher megapixel models for Dahua if it works or not (since the spec sheets don't seem to be accurate in this regard). On some 3MP cameras you can rotate the lens 90 degrees and then flip 90 degrees in the...

Dahua 2MP 25x Starlight IR PTZ Network Camera (SD49225T-HN)

+1 Would like to add my 2 cents to this as well as I've had the misfortune of dealing with CCA junk before. We got an order from our supplier of this stuff for some very long patch cables used for POE+ electric door strikes and began experiencing a myriad of issues almost immediately. Finally...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Just want to say after owning this camera for over a year now, I'm extremely pleased with it. It has survived a major hurricane recently (Florence) that damaged several of my older Hikvision domes due to water intrusion (still not sure how yet). I wanted to ask, is this still the GoTo model...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Very professional level install. What is that black stuff you're using to cover that hole? Is that the firewall plug/boot people have linked before?

What dash cam are you using?

Figured I'd mention I heard a lot of people having troubles with SanDisk (least I think it was SanDisk) SD cards in the Blackbox cameras. One person on Amazon gave a good reasoning that SanDisk cards have some kind of special wear leveling logic in them that conflicts w/ the dashcam software...

Review-I'll be the guinea pig for the new SD59225U-HNI PTZ.

Finally got my unit installed, up a ladder, by myself....Totally easier w/ a harness and loop belt! Unfortunately I somehow managed to forget the stupid rubber gasket for the PFA box! Gah...Now to put ladder BACK up and climb again, pull the camera off and put it back on :P I'll say this...

    Got my Hikvision Cams

Adding to this, as a habit I like to document IP information (if static) and serial numbers, etc at this point. IE "Garage - 192.168.x.x - Serial# , etc"

    PFA137 mod

Another thumbs up for Toughcable Pro, they have two levels and you're fine with the Pro series. (Carrier series is much better but extremely stiff and VERY hard to work with) Keep in mind that since Pro and Carrier both have shielding in them, you will really want to use the TC connectors as...

    PFA137 mod

I guess it all depends on location and exposure. I've personally had to repair some runs where cheap installers ran indoor Cat5 across a rooftop for wireless AP's. Cable all cracked and brittle, line still ran but I'd be worried about water intrusion at some point. Edit - I live in NC so UV is...

    PFA137 mod

Nice! Hope you're using outdoor rated cable though, UV is pretty harsh on cabling. If I might ask, location too difficult to run cable inside the house to? IE masonry or just hard to get to?

How do I get the best possible live video feed?

In terms of network bandwidth you should be fine, 10 2MP cameras even at highest quality barely saturated a modern gig ethernet line. When I look at NVR's the biggest thing I concern myself over are: What megapixel level does the NVR support? - IE some of the more inexpensive Hikvision's only...

How do I get the best possible live video feed?

Are you asking about bandwidth concerns or how to display them? If trying to display, are you using an hardware NVR or software (such as Blue Iris, Milestone, etc)? Either option allows you to dictate display layout, so you can have all 10 up at once and lay them out as you wish.
