New RCA HSDB2A 3MP Doorbell IP Camera

I could never adjust the motion detection correctly as it was either too sensitive or not sensitive enough. I abandoned the effort and went to an outdoor PIR on the front porch facing the door from above. Works well this way. That said Amazon delivery folks never ring the doorbell and...

    BI vs NVR

Software typically is updated. Firmware is typically not updated. Some folks like to tinker with their software and some prefer never to touch it. It is up to you what you want to do. Personally I like software because I have an IT background and like to tinker.

Before the Video Doorbell stuff used an Optex outdoor PIR / Camera facing the door at a right angle. Additionally added Geophone motion detection under the cement walk. I had no issues with the wired configuration. I do not like or ever have liked using wireless for video. That is me. The...

To start learning Home Assistant you can run it on an RPI. I just do not trust much running on an SD card. I am running one Home Assistant box on a Pine64 with 1-2 Gb of RAM. I have also run it on an el cheapo chinese $50 TV box replacing Android with Armbian Linux and running it from the...

    EZVIZ DB1 - Firmware Upgrade

So question, this will work if the CAM/Doorbell can work in AP mode correct? Not sure David. By default the camera boots in AP mode. It probably does not do a TFTP request on boot so you would more than likely need to JTAG the camera if the firmware is trashed. The other way is to put the...
