    Order of cams?

When I changed the group drop down, the order looked like I wanted but wasn't cascading to the iPad. I moved one cam back and forth, and I think that forced it to "resave" the order. Seems to work now (so far).

    Order of cams?

    Just order in general.

    Order of cams?

I don't see that it addresses the "order" of the cameras. If I put my front door camera as the first camera in BI, it shows up as the 8th camera in UI3.

    Order of cams?

I can edit the BI screen to re-arrange the Cams. However, I have a Group called Group A let's say, and I view those Cams on an iPad via UI3. The cams on the iPad don't follow the order of cams on BI desktop computer. How can I re-arrange the cameras showing up on the iPad?

    Limiting number of presets

Sorry - I see you mean grey out the PROFILES (which I did) - I thought you meant the presets at first.

    Limiting number of presets

So I did what I think you suggested - turned off profiles 0 through 7 (day/night/etc) for the 36 presets I didn't need. Seems to work now. Bit of a pain. What do you mean precisely by "grey out"? THANKS EITHER WAY.

    Limiting number of presets

Yeah I just checked again - it find/inspects even without me pushing that button. Greying out doesn't help either. As soon as I re-open the config box in BI, it shows me all 40 presets again.

    Limiting number of presets

Can't clear them all (only some) on Cam (silly interface). I think the issue is this... when you go into PTZ setting in BI, BI re-loads the presets from the Camera. There should be a button to only manually do this. Or a checkmark to not re-load in the future when editing that camera. Not sure...

    Limiting number of presets

    Auto calling via auto cycle.

    Limiting number of presets

BI has up to 40 presets. I only need sat 5 for a camera, with autocycle. So I never want to go to preset 6, 7, etc. but no matter what I do I can’t get BI to stop calling all 40 presets. Help please?

    Getting mic to work

Thanks guys. The description on Amazon elsewhere says "mic built in". Clearly bad tracking of models. The online manual doesn't describe how to connect the audio wires to an external mic. Judging from the picture, anyone have a suggestion on a good mic to buy and how to splice it?

Pleased with Hikvision PTZIP204WX4IR - Nice 4x zoom

Hi - do you have a link for the external microphone (to purchase) and do you have the instructions to splice the wires? Thanks.

    Getting mic to work

I have the camera below, and the camera settings (via IP address) clearly have audio on. I also have audio on checked for BI. But not getting any audio? Am I missing something obvious? THANKS!

    Bird feeder

I was hoping to put something within a few inches or a foot of the birds. So I need something that can focus in really near. I should’ve made that clear sorry.

    Bird feeder

What's a good camera option for a bird feeder (wifi or ethernet), but I would run a power source (no batteries) to place very near a bird feeder? THANKS!

Thanks. That was the line of thinking I had. But I could not find an automated way to post from FTP to social media. I can’t say I spent hours researching.

I have a cam over my bird feeder... is it possible to post a picture to social media when triggered? Thanks.

    Pan/Zoom TO the motion?

Can Blue Iris, when motion is triggered, actually pan and zoom in on the primary area with motion? Thanks.

    External access to "webstream"

Seems the trick with YouTube is to make sure you also stream audio, even if you set Mic volume = 0.

    External access to "webstream"

OKay for Twitch it was easy. I had to find the server address - some suggested here (Twitch Streamers - Twitch Ingest Recommendation) and then I had to copy/paste the secret stream key. And place that in the Flash section of the Webcast tab on Camera settings. No username/password needed. And...

    External access to "webstream"

Thanks again guys. I finally got Twitch to work, and I may do YT just to test. However, either way, can I stream automatically only upon a Trigger? Not all the time?
  23. C

    Why use a substream?

Thanks. How do I point the Triggering to the substream, while the Recording is the mainstream? And... if the substream is a different aspect ratio, how so I make sure the motion zones will work correctly? THANKS!
  24. C

    Why use a substream?

Why would you use a substream? I'm just a homeowner and I like seeing my cams + recording when there's motion. Do I really need my IP cameras sending out a sub-stream?

    External access to "webstream"

Added - I want to basically just share a URL string with friends who would like to see birds at my bird feeder. Without giving them full login to my VPN.

    External access to "webstream"

Well I'd love to do the initial plan. But it sounds like my friend outside my network would need to login to my VPN and can't just access a URL with user/password in the URL string. Hence I guess Twitch is Plan B. But I prefer the URL idea, without opening ports.

    External access to "webstream"

So... I set up a Twitch account. I have the stream URL (rtmp:/jfk.contribute.live-video.net/app/ SECRET KEY) and I put that into Webcast settings in BI. Added my username and password. Still no luck seeing a stream. Help?

    External access to "webstream"

The VPN I have is done via my Unifi Router - super easy and secure. I'll look into the twitch thing. Thanks.

    External access to "webstream"

I already have a VPN set up. But I would prefer for them not to have to log into Blue Iris or to the VPN to see the WebCam. I thought there would be just a simple URL with a username and password they could use so that they could see the WebCam on their browser.
