Has anyone noticed some really strange behaviour on eBay?!? More specifically if you select watch this item a day later it shows up as expired even though it had say 5-10 days left in the auction??

At first I thought it had to be my mistake of the listing ending on time - it wasn’t. Next I thought whelps maybe someone bought the item - it wasn’t.

Than I figured maybe the seller took down the listing for whatever reason - it wasn’t!

I feel like someone is playing with me.

None of the sellers or items are related in any way and span from tools to diagnostic hardware. Some are just computer related while others are just electronic components like resistors.

Anyone see the same odd behaviour??

FYI - while I have not done much on ebay recently, a recent order from Amazon showed in stock, and a delivery of 2 days for prime .. ordered and the item delivery date kept getting pushed out a couple of days, then got posted as out for delivery, then got posted as a returned ( possible customer refused listed as a reason ), .. no one ever showed up to deliver the item ( computer network related - docking station ) ..

So major screwy stuff going on right now ..

I had the same experience with Amazon a few months ago. Happened exactly as you listed out. The problem I ran into was Amazon was literally waiting for me to return the item that never came?!?

When I called in and pressed the CSR as to what was happening with my refund. They said the item was lost in transit by the courier.

I say OK but what does that have to do with me?!? She asked me what I meant and I told her your system indicates the refund is pending the return of the item!

How can I or the shipper return an item lost in the system?!? Obviously she was embarrassed and issued the refund immediately - but like WTF???

I just had a similar incident with an Amazon shipment that was shipped via USPS. They allegedly "attempted" delivery on Friday which was the day Amazon said it would arrive. I reviewed video for the day and other than the regular mail delivery, no other sign of a USPS vehicle. The package was a sprinkler head so it wasn't big or heavy at all. I was working outside on Monday and a USPS truck pulled up in the street at about 16:00. The mail person (hope that's actually PC) got out and walked an 11x17 Amazon envelope to the door. Shipping is starting to turn into a disaster along with supply. Maybe we are spoiled, but that's what the system was designed to do.

Americans are totally spoiled! Anyone who’s Canadian knows what waiting is along with limited selection. We know everything costs 20-50% more depending upon what the item is.

When I see a package literally come clear across the two different countries the next day?!? I honestly feel I’ve won the lottery each time!

Your Flat Rate boxes are just crazy cheap! The same if it exists costs 2-4 times as much and offers very limited levels of service and size.

Spoiled - Yes!

USPS rates have skyrocketed in recent weeks :(

Ironically, a few of my orders have experienced the same and I've had to resort to buying in-person locally and requesting price matching prior to completing the sale :(

Ever since ebay has revamped its policies, this year alone, I've been noticing a surge in fraudulent buyers. There could be some anti-fraud detection happening within ebay's networks due to the surge of complaints by sellers. Although, ebay has been siding with buyers more often over their sellers. Without sellers, ebay would be nothing.
