Ive been trying to sort this issue for a few days now, every time a event is triggered eg line crossing , on playback it plays for 10 seconds , then pauses for a while then starts but jumps few seconds pauses /resumes. on direct playback during the event it does it too. on constant recording without any events triggered its fine. does it via the pc ivms or hik connect mobile app. only does it only for set of cameras DS-2CD2386G2-ISU/SL. ive tried so many setting different bitrate , iframe, h265/h264, quality/ factory reset . all the firmware are up-to-date on nvr and cameras . My nvr is DS-7732NI-I4 /16P , have just 5 camera atm.
Any suggestions what else i could try?

Despite that 'capture' may not be enabled - in the NVR web GUI, do a search in the Picture top-level menu across a wide date range for 'All types' of event and see if anything comes up.

all the firmware are up-to-date on nvr
In reality - that means little as it's a moving picture, with different versions on different Hikvision websites.
If it's the NVR 4.x firmware - all the many versions I've seen are a bit bugged and quirky, each one a little different.

is that normal to show them files on all events?

part me thinks if was when i updated the nvr caused this, as i assumed the new cameras may not run correctly with 2 year old firmware on the nvr. i was abit sceptical when i first tried version 4 , as i found it buggy but some features i needed why i went ahead

I don't believe so.
If 'Capture' is not enabled for the camera, why would the NVR be capturing the still images?
And I'd guess that while those captures match the timings of Line Crossing events in the NVR log - you won't find 'Line Crossing' in the File Type list in the Picture search.

I don't know if it relates to the pause you're seeing on events su8ch as Line Crossing, but it does give the NVR another task to do at the same time as initiating the event recording, despite that you're well within the limits of its published capabilities.
I suspect it's another bug.
Maybe others can comment.

Appears its doing this capture on all the cameras even if its not check in the nvr, checked the picture they are the capture of the events eg the line crossing so they match up. really annoying as its power nvr so im no were near its bandwidth/ resources limitation.
How would i go ahead in reporting this hikvision ?

Yep - the way Hikvision treat end users is ultra poor.

Not keen on the way they ignore GPL requests either or simply point you to their open source portal which is just copies of stock source instead of the versions they modified. GPL License violation.

That's as current as it gets for that model, as far as I'm aware.
So there's no chance to try for an update that might help things.
Yeh hit rock bottom now, i dont want to try random previous versions as it take alot of time to setup .

Is it possible to find out what firmware i had previously? so i could try rolling back to that?

Fixed Now :)

Downgraded the firmware to V4.40.017 one below the latest. Picture capture was automatically ticked , unticked then saved. No more stuttering after event trigger. but its still taking a snap shot picture at start of the event, not sure why but don't bother me much.
Another bug ive noticed in the latest version, backing device parameters/settings don't work, keep saying failed.

Interesting.
Yet another indication that the Hikvision NVR 4.x firmware has quite a few bugs and quirks.
Well done for getting it sorted.
