Hi,
Trying to add a hikvision camera to a dahua NVR.
Finally have it to the point where on the NVR under Camera Registration/Device Search it shows up in the search field with Status green.
When I try to add it though, it adds but I get the red circle. I tried to add it manually but same deal-red circle. Any ideas?
I think I've exhausted trying every post, both on here and elsewhere.

Thanks ,
Tubac

Can you post all your NVR and Camera's network configuration values? That would help to troubleshoot.

This thread may be of use, particularly the first video on this post. I have a hikvision cube POE camera I'm going to attempt to connect to my Dahua NVR, this method seems like it should work, most issues are likely caused by invalid network configurations or using the wrong credentials.

Thanks for all the input.
I have two other Hikvision cameras , both are the same model purchased about 1 year ago and both were not a problem to add to the NVR. It is the “updated” same model Hikvision camera I have not been able to add. Odd thing is it comes up as green lit in the search field but when I add it to the registration field it goes red as in not online. And yes it works on the Hikvision app just fine.
Thanks,
Tubac

Just to cover all the bases, after the camera is added to the registration list, do you right click the pencil and hit "connect"?

Yes over and over! I read somewhere that the new Hikvision cameras have some kind of anti theft device that will not work on Dahua built in Poe ports. When I find the article I will post to this thread.

@tubac I just figured it out on mine :) I'm guessing it will work for you too since mine had a similar behavior to what you described. I'll write up a tutorial of the steps I took. I experimented with many different combinations and it came down to having the right network settings on the camera (Namely, using DHCP).

DHCP I did not try. I look forward to your tutorial!

did you ever write the tutorial I am having issues installing A Hikvision 2342 on my dahua n42b2p i've opened up sadp change ip to 10.1.1.67 for channel 3 changed gateway to 192.168.1.2 same as my dvr and also tried 10.1.1.1 as for the switch ive checked dhcp unchecked dhcp after i do the sadp i log into the camera ip address to check onvif and make a new username and password for it i've changed the security like suggested and turned off all the boxes for security then have logged into onvif device manager and shows up fine but will not show up in a search on the nvr or if i do manual add it always stays red and either says log in time out or something or says error message

Have you tried logging into the camera while not attached to the NVR and setting the camera password to be the same as the NVR admin login?
