Hello , recently I bought a Panasonic fish-eye WV-x4170 cctv . From the spec it has day&night function which is "electrical" mode . It has not any build-in IR light on it . Tonight I tried adding an extra IR light , but I found the camera has not respond to it . There is no effect with additional IR light .

Is there anything on settings side I need to pay attention to ? or is it a normal behaviour for this type of day&night "electrical" camera ?

thanks in advance . Robert .

Wow that is an expensive camera!

Quick look and it appears that camera does not have an IR filter which means it will not see infrared light...

Electrical is just an Image processing method used for day & night switch, but has nothing to do with being able to see infrared light.

I am sure you could find a cheaper fisheye with IR ability...
