There is also some road rage on display in this video. Towards the end of the video (4:25 mark) a follow SUV turns the corner behind the last bike riders. It has it's emergency lights flashing. At the 4:50 mark a truck passes the SUV. The driver of the SUV does not appear happy. It speeds up and as both vehicles drive out of the frame they are side by side. By the way, this road is marked with signs in both directions that say bike riders are allowed to use the full lane. Bonus points if you can spot the bike rider who appears to wearing a Santa Clause suit. The reason some end up walking is that this road goes uphill.

I guess the basic rules of the road, like keep to the right, don't ride abreast, yield to faster traffic, don't apply to bicyclists in your neck of the woods. Here that would have turned into multiple slices of road pizza.
I would estimate that most bike riders keep to the right and stay in the bike lanes. Occasionally, large groups of riders use that road. The signs are there to protect the riders, as this road goes around a hill. So they can use the full lane if they need to. Once you get to the other side of that hill, the road gets wider and bike riders have to stay in the bike lanes.

Sure. I guess that's why they were riding in the opposing traffic lane then. They displayed no respect for the basic rules of the road for almost the entire video. No excuses for that. We get a lot of cyclists and groups of cyclists on our street, a fairly narrow unmarked two lane street. They move to single file when a vehicle approaces from either direction and do not, deliberately, block traffic like that group did.
