I don't believe you can change the wifi settings via any QC app. You must use a config tool. Change the wifi settings through the browser link in the tool.

On the right side is the "e" to open the browser settings window. This assumes the camera has been initialized as it will say so on the left side.

Sorry, I thought it was the same camera as I had with a network port, slightly different number. Needs to be connected to the network hard wired to setup then unplugged from network for wifi. It may be time to buy another camera.

I had one of these. There is no default password. Once one logged into the camera the first time it required you to create one. Now if you reset you will be prompted to initialize and create one. Use config tool which will open the settings in a browser window.
Great, thank you. Had to break out the laptop for the config tool (used 4.09.0). When it loaded up I had three cameras showing and the one I reset wasn’t initialize, selected it and hit the initialize button on the bottom to program my password. Now I’ll have to reset the other two cameras since I can’t remember the password I set for them. Then I’ll setup my vpn on my router for remote viewing and I’ll be back in business. Shame the password initialization can’t be done via an app. Now the laptop has to be updated to windows 10 20h2. The should of added an O to that version number.

For the record I wasn’t able to connect when hitting that (e) button it brought up the correct ip and :85 but connection failed. Not important just wanted to let others know.

approach 2: register the device via wifi using QC view app. (note: i have to scan the serial number). using the 'cuckoo' noise. never successfully connects.
Reset your camera(holding the button more than 15 seconds).
‘Make sure the volume is loud enough on your device you are running the QC View app on.
Check the microphone on the camera doesn’t have a piece of lint or something blocking it.
‘Also do this in a quiet location without echo.

Thanks! This almost worked for me.

Adding via the cuckoo noise seemed to change the wifi settings. the indicator light turned green, suggesting it was connecting to the wifi

However, adding in the QC View app fails on the last step, where i enter the username/password. Says 'Failed to connect'. I used the default admin/admin combo

When i scan the devices via the config tool, it finds the camera, but says "Uninitialized"

What is going on?

Use the config tool to initialize the camera and you are set.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have disabled the NVR from the router DMZ setting. However, the weird thing is I can still view 1 of the 4 cameras on the Q-See QC View app over data. How is that even possible? I thought by disabling DMZ I should not be able to view any of the 4 cameras but that's not the case. I can still view 1 of the 4 cameras on the Q-See QC View app over data, it's just that the camera displayed changes sometimes. For example, yesterday I was seeing camera 1 and today I saw camera 3.

The only difference I noticed by disabling DMZ is that the port 85 no longer works on Open Port Check Tool -- Verify Port Forwarding on Your Router. If I have DMZ enabled, both ports 85 and 37777 will show as success. With DMZ disabled, port 85 shows error and port 37777 is still success. Am I doing everything right? Should 37777 be open?

For the physical setup, I have 4 IP cameras connected to a POE switch (/w ethernet cables), the POE switch is connect to another unmanaged switch (/w ethernet cable), the unmanaged switch is connected to the router (/w ethernet cable), and finally the NVR is connected to the router (/w ethernet cable)

@David150 Get that NVR out of the DMZ! Use a VPN instead, a VPN for inbound connections not the type that hides your surfing on the internet. Using an inbound VPN makes your phone work exactly as if it is on your local LAN. Having the NVR in a DMZ is asking to get hacked.

I have two QC8916 NVRs in a retail setting that I've lost remote access to. Reading through the previous posts I now know why. When I try to log in to the units with a known user name and password, the system is not opening the user interface. Is that part of the Q-See shutdown or something else? Is it possible to reset the system so I can start trying some of the workarounds in this thread?

Because it's in a retail setting that has credit card transactions, I'm behind a managed firewall with a LAN 1 for PCI compliance and LAN 2 for all other traffic. Looking for a simple solution that won't get rejected by my firewall folks when trying to restore remote mobile viewing.

Hello guys! I have 4 QCW2MPSL cameras, Q-see Plus stopped working after February 11th. I tried various iDMSS Plus, Imou Life applications. At the last stage, they don't agree to work with my cameras. I do not want to buy NVRs, as they are in different places with me. It was convenient for me to use the Q-see Plus application. Can anyone find another app? Share! Thank!!!

Use QC View. DMSS works as well. You need to add the cameras directly via the IP Address. If you don't know the IP address on the cameras, you can scan via the Config Tool.

i think default is admin/admin. yes, you can reset by holding reset button for 15s.

note if you reset, you won't be able to fully initialize, because you are required to change password on install. and for some reason you cant do this in qc view or dmss. you can then go to config tool, find the camera and then initialize by changing password.
