So I just installed a IP2M-841. For the life of me I can't figure out how to get to the PTZ controls. I am pretty sure I set it up properly. I remember there was a way to add and remove the PTZ buttons on bottom of screen but can't seem to find. The arrow keys on keyboard does not do anything either.

Thanks.

Ok. got the PTZ to work on the server. I had the PTZ controls turned off. Just right clicked on the blank area near a camera and got the menu to turn on PTZ controls. But still can't find in the IU...

I am in safari. but opened up in chrome and I still do not see anything like you described. I could not find anything in settings that would suggest this is something I can turn off or on (to see the PTZ button).

I also do not seem to have sound. In the Amcrest AP, I seem to have sound and can PT. this camera does not have zoom.

Sounds like you got a dud.
Try a hard reset and start from scratch; if not joy, I'd return it. I've set up a dozen IP2M-841's and IPM-721's (and own 3 of the 841's) and have NEVER had those issues.

Try Pale Moon browser, 32 bit version, or install the IE plug in for Chrome. I have an 841 and can manipulate everything using Opera if that helps you. Big PTZ button on the upper right and can set presets as well.

So just to clarify, PTZ works fine in the amcrest app, and in the blue iris server. It is only in the UI when I access the server from another computer on LAN, within my house. I have a feeling it is just a setting in the UI...

Post over in the UI3 thread then. BP is the expert, to say the least.

Just had a quick look. Look in settings and scroll down the list until you get to "Hotkeys". Keep going down and you'll see the keys to use. It won't bring up the typical PTZ control panel, but you can use the arrow keys, for example to pan in the appropriate direction.

I had seen the hotkeys, but they don't seem to work.

UI Is the user interface (I guess)? My BI server is upstairs. So I access it through the LAN via the IP address. That is where I am trying to move the camera from since it would be where I would most likely be accessing the BI. I do not yet have the app for my phone.

OK, since you're NOT in the Blue Iris forum I didn't see any reference to BI until your post #7 so now things are becoming clearer. I agree with @sebastiantombs it's likely an issue with a setting / config of BI's UI which, BTW, is more commonly known as "UI3". ...that alone got me in the ballpark quicker. :blankstare:

Also insure the BI user that's logging into UI3 is allowed PTZ controls.
