    hey terry heres my config

    im running 5.3.3 and 5.2.5

    Mail settings:

    smtp Server: smtp.yandex.com
    port465
    SSL Enabled
    user useryouchoose@yandex.com
    password youchoose

    obviously username and password is your account.

    Tim, I'm on F/W v5.4.5!!!
    I did that mtdblock6 jiggery pokery (yes, you can tell i'm not very technical...haha!) with Alastair, and it worked! I had to take a leap of faith, as this particular camera is my most critical, and I didn't even have a Windows PC to run the Hikvision tools if it had've gone pear-shaped... (part 2 to follow)

    ...but ultimately, it worked and now I'm running English language v5.4.5 on my old CCCH DS-2CD2732F!
    So happy mate. I strongly advise you to speak to this guy - he's so amazingly helpful, and has a 100% strike rate, so far.

    might mean you can avoid the risky upgrading to get email back. I'm staying around 5.3.3. and 5.2.5.

    Hey Tim. I haven't been able to get this to work for some reason. I keep getting a message in the camera GUI when I try an e-mail test telling me that the username and password is incorrect. I have tried setting up two separate Yandex accounts and I get the same problem. I can log on to them fine via the browser. I'll keep trying when I have more time this evening.

    hey mate , hopefully this is direct. I'm letting you know since you shared and made an effort to find an smtp solution. I'm kind of avoiding a wholesale swing over of many many users. yandex seems to work, and its unlimited. configure

    SSL Yes / Port 465 / username camera@yandex.com/ password password/ SMTP server smtp.yandex.com/. Let me know how it goes. rgs
