    What's your NAS setup like?

I’ve just got an old Buffalo TeraStation with 4 6Tb drives installed, find that we don’t actually use it that much these days as we tend to stream and only really use it for backups.

Video's playing backwards on blue iris app on Iphone 14

Doesn’t the player remember the last playback setting, seem to recall it does on my phone so just use the navigation buttons to select normal play?

Site ads making site unusable on mobile Safari

I’ve moved over to using Brave exactly for these reasons, with Chrome it made it pretty hard to spot the rare post between all the ads

Recurring BSODs on Blue Iris PC, "Memory Management"

Run a chkdsk on all your drives and also run memory diagnostics on the RAM are 2 things I would do.

ONVIF - Only Certain Areas & Alert Types

Think of the tripwire or intrusion box as lasers on the ground, some of yours are way too high. You also need to try and leave an area around so that the person then when they walk will cross the tripwire/intrusion box.

Using BlueIris as a service causes PC to lag, stutter?

If you disable BI as a service and then run BI leave it running then does the PC run fine?
  14. IAmATeaf

Does BI still need intel quick sync?

With the advent of substreams I’ve disabled hardware acceleration on my rig. To my surprise doing this also lowered the overall CPU consumption, no idea why?

    Hall of shame

I recently had AC fitted at my house in India and I showed the installer examples of how I didn’t want it installed. Some of the installs in India are just plain shocking!

Swap old ssd hard drive to new cpu?

I’d just move it and see what happens. You might need to play around in the BIOS if the old system was for example using the legacy BIOS option and the new is UEFI. If you have encryption enabled then be sure to disable and decrypt the drive before even thinking about moving it.

Not another iOS versus Android Discussion

Can’t really comment as the last Android phone I had was the Galaxy S4 and since then Apple. For me the app, bar a few temporary issues with specific releases of the app has always done what I need from it. I hear people complain about the layout and that it looks ancient/old but all I need...

    Junction Boxes, Required or not?

This is a very good point and another reason why I use junction boxes even where I don’t strictly need one. That extra 1” or so is enough to lift the camera away from the wall and can alter the overall view you can obtain.

    Junction Boxes, Required or not?

Unless your cable will be coming from directly behind where you mount the cam and there is room for the pigtails for the first cam you've linked I would personally mount it on a junction box. Just out of interest why have you selected/settled for those cams? There are plenty better available?

Doesn't this panel create more problems down the line?

It looks like it’s basically a utp coupler similar to what you’d use to extend say an Ethernet cable. Can’t see why it would cause any issue as it’s just a more glorified patch panel minus the need to punch down but you’d need to put a plug on all the tails coming in behind it.
