Getting comfortable
Having too much fun with the Color-4KT footage looking for auroras now that I know how to process the video and what to look for in captured footage.
I've found auroras on more nights near the main event like this on May 13, 2024. That wasn't super surprising.
That inspired me to search in captured night footage back to May 1, 2024. Yes, there was activity visible to the Color-4KT, but likely never noticed by anyone else since nobody cannot see it. Heck, I would never even have noticed without careful review.
This suggests that with a sensitive camera pointed north, aurora activity might be detectable here (near Seattle) more frequently than expected.
May 1 aurora is faint, but definitely shows up on camera.
Now I must process future, clear night captures to discover whether this is true.
