DH_IPC vs Upall_IPC firmware

Hi.

I want to update my IPC-HFW2431R-ZS-IRE6 cameras firmware.

At the moment, the version is V2.460.0000.15.R
The newest version is V2.620.0000004.0.R

When I download the update file, there are 3 files:

DH_IPC-HX1X2X-Themis_Eng_P_V2.620.0000004.0.R.191130.bin
Upall_IPC-HX1X2X-Themis.191130.bin
web-x.squashfs.bin

How do I know which one to use, and what is the difference?

A common theme around here is don't fix what ain't broke. If the unit is working and meets your needs, in many instances an update breaks what you had working and provides you with something you didn't need. A Z12E that someone updated and then constantly reboots comes to mind, and a certain PTZ that loses autotracking with an update come to mind, a Hikvision ANPR camera losing half the FPS and ability to read US plates - those are big deals to have happen. Don't do it unless it is fixing a problem you are experiencing or adds a feature you really need.

Further, it is best to obtain any firmware updates from the vendor you purchased it from so that you do not run into issues. Any firmware you find here or elsewhere is obviously proceed at your own risk. We have many threads here where someone tried an update with a firmware they found on the internet and bricked their unit.

Many units being sold are Chinese hacked units that will either brick or go into Chinese upon updating. Some vendors will be upfront and tell consumers that as part of their website, but many do not or the consumer forgets...here is one such example....

So you really need to ask yourself, why am I updating? If it is just for kicks, then stay with what is working.

Well, I would like to think, that firmware updates are not just for kicks also for them and they have fixed something that is not obvious for me.
And, if they have released an update which break things, would they not fix them after complaints, or are they final?

I would think, this camera is old enough that the latest firmware would have all the bugs fixed. The final golden firmware.
Not like newer cameras, where fixing one bug would break something else and they would continue to improve them.

You have too much faith in the camera manufacturers LOL...

If the camera is working and meets your needs, it may break something you were using.

The latest update for the 49225 PTZ removes autotracking from its capabilities...that is a big deal...the other cameras I mentioned above are the latest firmware that broke it, even years later still the latest firmware.

Some cameras you can rollback the firmware, and some you cannot...

Most cameras final firmware update still is buggy....they don't perfect the firmware, especially once a new model is out.

If you do not know the reason for the firmware update, you are better not fixing what ain't broke. Maybe the firmware update only adds a language to the camera, but then breaks motion detection or lowers the resolution as well, but you didn't need the other language and now you have a camera with less capability.

Well, the consumers have the say with their money.

Maybe one person has reported the issue to the manufacturer and posted the same problem here, and others googled the issue and just replied only here with #metoo. But manufacturer does not check here and considers that it is just one incident and thinks everything is okay.

Who knows.

Just checked the latest firmware bug fix - The camera cannot connect to the server through P2P

That is working for me, will not upgrade.

BTW, there is new firmware with version V2.802.000007.0.R.220923 for official devices of Hx1x2x-Themis series
